Yesterday, I finally made up my mind to go IKEA to buy the VIKA AMON/CURRY table which I have been eyeing for quite some time already.

My initial plan was to go there savour their famous Swedish Meatballs for breakfast followed by a leisurely shopping around the store but alas, I didn't expect the cafe to be already buzzing with customers and there were still a long queue waiting outside for a seat! I had thought that IKEA would be very quiet in the morning but obviously I was very, very wrong!

With my breakfast plans gone up in smoke, I decided to concentrate on the shopping instead.
Tried to get some inspiration to set up my room...
I simply love their low-priced furnitures and deco ideas!
The table I had wanted was available flat-packed which means, I could bring it home and assemble myself on the same day without having to wait (and pay) for delivery. Hence, I lugged the table-top and four legs home all by myself. I didn't want to take a cab because there's a fare hike again and I didn't want to spend unnecessary money on transport.
I would rather walk the extra distance than to pay for comfort!
Anyway, the only difficulty I faced was to get from IKEA to the nearest MRT station which was only three bus-stops away after which, the rest of the journey by MRT would be easy peasy.
The stuffs weren't heavy but it was the shape which makes it awkward to carry. Furthermore, the plastic wrapping the table-top keeps slipping off my fingers so every few steps I walked, I had to re-adjust my grip on it.
I guess this causes a strain on my arm.
 Finally home. Phew!
 Screwing my table upside down...
After reaching home, I wasted no time in assembling my table. There were five screws to each leg which I had to secure the mounting plate but unfortunately, the screws were rather hard to 'screw in' so I had to use alot of force to push it in.
I think I have over exerted the muscles from my shoulder to my left arm. It was aching so much that I felt my whole arm was dropping off! I had to apply yoko-yoko but even then, the pain was still keeping me awake.
It was getting so awful, I had to postphone typing this post till this morning after the pain have finally subsided.
I know I am weak lah but I have no regrets because I am very pleased with the results!
 The final look
