Thanks to omy.sg for the invitation, I attended the "Dinner for Schmucks" Premiere at Iluma last night. Based on the movie title, I had thought that the story would unfold around a dining table but I was wrong. The dinner scene took place during the last thirty minutes of the show.

A remake of French comedy Le Diner de Cons, "Dinner for Schmucks" is about up-and-coming Executive, Tim, who was invited for a monthly dinner hosted by his boss. Every invited Exec has to bring along an idiot, for everyone else to ridicule. This is a secret between them Execs, of course, for the 'idiots' had thought that they were invited to show off their talents instead.

And a idiot Tim did find, in the form of Barry, an IRS employee who taxidermies mice and dressed them up in clothes as a hobby.

Unfortunately, Barry has gotten the dinner date wrong. He appears at Tim's house during an unappropriate time and subsequently turn his life upside down. Due to Barry's good blundering intentions, Tim has to deal with a spurned ex-lover, Darla (whom he has successfully been hiding away from for years until now) and placate his current girlfriend, Julie that he did not cheat on her.

With his promotion on the edge (and love life on the rocks), Tim has to make a choice between keeping the ethics of friendship or jeopardising his career.
