| | Queue at I Taimei I have passed by this eatery a couple of times but I was alway in a hurry to somewhere else or it's too close to meal times so I never had the chance to try out what they had to offer. Today, I was in the vicinity again and I finally had the time to check it out. Click to enlarge Offering Taiwan night snacks ranging from Chicken Chops to Mee Sua, Burgers and Parson Nose, it's interesting that every combo here is named after a female Taiwan celebrity. Hey, now you can proudly tell everyone that you just had lunch with S.H.E! Heh!
So yes, I could not resist the urge and ordered myself a Combo 1 a.k.a Selina which comprised of a BBQ Crispy Chicken, Spicy Mexican Fries and a Lemon Ice Jelly (you could mix and match the side and drink).
While waiting with the rest of the customers in front of me, I was informed that they have ran out of Chicken Chops (I was there around 2pm) and requested that I change my main order to a Burger instead.
After collecting my order, the standing tables were occupied (frankly, it's nauseating to eat beside a overflowing dustbin too) so I had to crossed over the connecting bridge from Iluma to Bugis Junction to find a quiet spot to have my lunch.
My Selina Jolin Tsai Combo Introducing, Jolin Tsai! It looks like a very simple burger but let me tell you, the patty is not so simple at all! I've upgraded my drink at SGD 0.80 so total bill is SGD 7.70 Conclusion: On the whole, I like the concept behind this eatery very much from the design of the signboard to the menu and the presentation of the shopfront. However, the staffs here are quite aloof. I was ignored for a good five minutes while standing in front of the cashier before someone finally tend to me. I understand they are short of staff and they were all busy inside but all I need is just a greeting or maybe a smile to acknowledge my presence. A grumpy face certainly do not make my day. Although I'm pretty satisfied with the food, the service ( or lack thereof) leave a bad taste in my mouth. A smile is the universal welcome ~ Max Eastman
