"DC" is the acronym for Dead Cockroach - my online moniker. I love to dream and live in my own world with my imagination! I also love to stare into space and tends to get melancholy during rainy weather. I'm a small fry blogger who began blogging in Nov 2003. This blog is where I turned to for my moments of solitude...
After a exhilarating night of fireworks, I woke up early and followed the Monks to have their morning prayers at the temple.
For some reasons unknown, they did not seek alms after their prayers. It was our last day at the temple and we would be leaving for town at noon so I was a tad disappointed that I did not get to follow them out to the village again.
I used the remaining time to capture more random shoots around the temple.
Our last breakfast at the temple - Porridge with mock scallops and preserved vegetables
Meals were cooked on stoves like these
Let's meet some of my animal friends residing on the temple grounds.
This dog loves to play-bite and is fascinated with fingers!
Once, he sneaked up behind me and the next thing I know, my fingers were already in his mouth. Thank goodness he just clamp-and-release and did not bite. Gave me a fright, though.
The Albert Einstein look-alike dog
This dog, on the other hand, is more reserved and wary of strangers.
Chickens!
The chickens are my source of entertainment
I would chase them and send them fluttering about. During my stay at the temple, I found out that chickens actually sleep in the trees at night. When dusk approaches, these chickens would fly up to the trees on their own and secure their favorite spots. I guess that's their way of keeping away from predators.
This was totally unexpcted. I did not expect the chicken to jump fly away...
And then there were fish!
Fish feeding is thereupatic
I could sit there to feed them all day but only problem is I have run out of bread!
Rest of the time, I would be seated here when I wasn't teasing the chickens or feeding the fishes.
Old-school swing
This old-school swing brings back fond memories as my marternal grandparents home used to have one of this in their compound at the kampong! I remember playing on it when I was a little boy, swinging with all my might and the joints would go oink, oink, oink...
Slide
I did not attempt this... hehe
One last shot of the temple before we leave for the city.
Can you see the Swallows in the sky?
Watch out the next entry as we returned to the city!
