Dim Sum for adults. Really?
The first thing we did upon reaching the city was to settle our accomodation. After comparing prices among a few hotels, we opted for Sakol Hotel.
Sakol Hotel had just undergo a complete facelift so everything actually looks new and clean. The rooms were rather small but I'm not complaining for the price I am paying. It is just nice for a couple, bearable for three but a little cramp for four. I'm not sure if they have bigger rooms though.

When it comes to choosing hotels, I am more picky about the toilet than the room itself. I don't need a big toilet but it must be well lit.
Flickering lights and dark corners in the toilet always fuels my imagination while I'm doing my business. Haha!
When we arrived on the first day, we put up at Diamond Plaza Hotel. During my stay there, I slipped twice while getting out of the bathtub because it was too high. Both times, I hit my ding dongs along the rim of the bathtub but luckily, nothing's punctured.
The bathroom at Sakol Hotel, on the other end, is a lot more smaller but everything is within reach and most importantly, all corners are brightly lit. No room for wild imaginations!

Anyway, after putting down our luggage in our rooms, we went out in search of food. After being a vegetarian for two days, the carnivore in me was hungry for meat! We had tze char at one of the coffeeshops. Food is cheap here and you could have a decent meal of fish and crustacean at a good price. After having filled our tummies, we walked past this dessert stall.
Well, who could resist dessert?

As it was the second last day before returning to Singapore, we went for last minute shopping even though we know there is nothing more for us to buy...

Next morning, our last day in Hat Yai

Not a soul in the street

Walked past Lee Garden
We were back at Kim Yong Market for our last breakfast of this trip. It seems that during our stay at the city, we had our breakfast here everyday. Not that we have a choice as this was the only place open for business at that hour. Meals were not inclusive with the rooms we booked therefore we had to settle our breakfast outside.

Do you know why Thai sweetcorns are sweet?
That is because the vendor would dip the sweetcorn in sugar syrup before selling it to you!

Guess what is wrapped up inside this banana leaf?

Dry Mee Siam
Quite nice but does not taste like the ones we are used to.
Sio Bak for breakfast.

After breakfast, we returned to the hotel for some last minute packing up and had some rest before taking our flight back to Singapore.

Absolutely loved the dramatic cloud formations...

With that, I bring a close to my seclusion trip to Hat Yai, Thailand.
